| Bio: | I am 35 and live in Seattle. I am a committed christian, but that is largely because it is the spiritual tradition that I am most familiar and knowledgeable about. I am particularly interested in christian mysticism. In addition to this, I am studying for initiation as a Druid Apprentice in the Ancient Order of Druids in America. I also am interested or at least curious about a number of other spiritual paths (see interests list for a sampling). I have little patience with those who read the Bible literally, and still less patience for those who use the Bible to justify racism, sexism, homophobia, oppression of others, intolerance of other religions, or similar offenses against the command to "love one's neighbor". Some of my other passions are Peak Oil, education (particularly alternative education), community, ecology, sustainability, psychology, and economics. I keep another journal, ![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif){kind=small} 47_43n_122_19w, in which I write about some of these topics on occasion.I enjoy conversing with people who: 1) Are serious about spirituality. 2) Are interested in or following Christianity and who are tolerant of pagans. 3) Are interested in or following any neo-pagan practices and traditions and who are tolerant of Christians (at least liberal Christians). 4) Are intellectually capable and enjoy intelligent discussion of interesting subjects. 5) Maintain high level of mental, physical, and spiritual fitness. 6) Live in the Seattle area or are seriously considering relocating here. 7) Are Peak Oil aware and preparing for a future in which energy scarcity is a major world issue. 8) Are interested primarily in offline, real-world relationships to develop spirituality. (I actually prefer offline friendships to online - read here for my thoughts on Community on the Internet.) Feel free to friend me, but please don't be offended if I don't reciprocate. However, I generally will friend you back if you seem interesting. I may friend random people from time to time.
